Rita, a docile yet slightly huffy Chikorita, was chosen to be Meryl's starter Pokemon. (She never did like the Sinnoh starters, after all.) Rita has a strange, love-hate relationship with the rain, and is a Pokemon more befitting a battle out of Meryl's crew.
